Disappointing Results at Sandblast 2017 | South Carolina
We knew going in that the transmission was the weakest point of the car but we hoped it would last through the first race. The SCL Racing Rally Mazda Protege ended the race on stage 2 after a complete gearbox failure. Neeraj and Peterson were doing well to learn a new car as fast as they could but could not compensate for a loss of every gear except 1st... "We learned a lot about the car and its level of competitiveness." Said driver Neeraj Gupta. "The team did such an amazing job getting the car here and everyone sacrificed so much to get us to this point, but it just wasn't meant to be today. Its disappointing we couldn't get a podium for the team after all of their hard work." The team has 1 month to get the car ready for the next points paying event at Englishtown Raceway on April 4th.
